Great Britain's Intrepid class of Negative Gravity Screw Cruisers were some of the largest vessels at the time of their completion in 1887-1889. The Negative Gravity Screw was quickly rendered obsolete and those vessels that were not lost in the war of 1889-91 were scrapped, refitted or sold off by the Royal Navy as fast as time and budget allowed. The Sonorans were lucky enough to acquire one of the first Intrepids to be sold, the H.M.S. Victory. Victory had been severely damaged by an aerial mine at the end of the war and was due to be scrapped. After months of delicate negotiating the Sonorans managed to purchase the 'scrapped' 'Nef and fly her to New Orleans where she was fitted with new R-Matter engines and then made the trip to Hermosillo at record speed averaging 95 knots most of the trip (with no guns and a skeleton crew of course). Her refit was undertaken to mimic conservative European Aeronef design standards.
